The Voice returns tonight and NBC’s hit show has a certain coach all over the map. Blake Shelton is bringing more than just his usual self this time around. The reigning champion of the singing competition is ready to win season 12.

Besides discovering amazing talent, a fan favorite of the show is the chemistry Shelton and Adam Levine share. During The Voice clip below, Levine jokes, “I’d like to welcome you to The Voice… you’re on team ding dong.”

Shelton has won five seasons since the show began back in 2011. Team Blake winners include Craig Wayne Boyd, Danielle Bradbery, Cassadee Pope, Jermaine Paul, and last year’s winner, Sundance Head.

“I am proudly a country artist… that’s all I care about being. That’s all I want to be. Country music is my life,” Shelton exclaimed.

Things will get interesting as Shelton is in a relationship with fellow coach, Gwen Stefani. The pair recorded and co-wrote a song, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which was released on Shelton’s tenth studio album, If I’m honest.
